Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to enrich student learning and strengthen educational outcomes at Visitacion Valley Middle School in San Francisco, by providing funding for field trips, educational supplies, events, activities, and resources that support student success.
Why We Do What We Do
Visitacion Valley Middle School is a small school with a big heart and a caring community — and each year, our community is asked to do more with less.
VVMS serves students who are growing up in poverty, learning a new language, and working to catch up in reading and math, all while showing up every day ready to learn. The teachers and staff at VVMS go above and beyond for their students, often reaching into their own pockets to fill the gaps that public funding leaves behind.
We believe every student deserves field trips that bring lessons to life, supplies that don't run out halfway through the year, and enrichment activities that make school a place worth showing up for. We believe a child's zip code and a family's income shouldn't determine the opportunities available to them.
Friends of Visitacion Valley Middle School exists to make sure that, year after year, the students get more — not less. With the support of donors like you, we can give this small school the resources it needs to help every student succeed.
